Live Foods!
Introduction to Foods that are Healthy, Tasty,
Easy-to-prepare and Emotionally Satisfying
Bob Vaccaro Testimonial (see student testimonials over):
Though I have been mostly vegan for over 30 years, I have depended on an extensive yoga practice for the last 15 of those years to keep body stiffness at bay. In the Fall of November, 2007, I completed Alissa Cohen’s 5-day intensive training for living on live foods and shifted from eating perhaps 50% raw plant-based foods to close to 100%. I can hardly believe how much better I feel! I am offering this introductory class out of my enthusiasm for how good this living on live foods can be for so much of what ails us and our planet.
When we cook plant-based foods, we destroy their digestion-enhancing enzymes and many important vitamins and we dilute their naturally great tastes. We over-eat easily on cooked (and processed) foods because our bodies hunger for the nutrition that is lost in the cooking. It is much harder to over-eat live foods because our bodies know at a deep level when we have taken in sufficient nutrition.
The purpose of this 4-hour workshop is to introduce you to how easy it can be to prepare several live dishes that are also delicious and emotionally satisfying. You will leave feeling the health benefits and wanting to expand your live foods intake.
Betsy Anderson and I offer this workshop on most second Saturdays of the month, from noon - 4 pm, at my home at 411 Middle Street in Portsmouth (carriage house door at top of the driveway). The fee for this workshop including food is BY DONATION. Please pre-register by emailing me at bob@yogabydonation.org or by calling my home at 603-430-4013. Arrive hungry – prepared to sample the foods we prepare!

Solid as a Rock: Living with Authenticity
Introduction to A Program for Men
with Dave Estes
May 1, 2010, 1:30 - 4:30 at Yoga By Donation in Portsmouth
What is it that defines masculine identity in the world today? There is a core energetic biology of being male that is fundamental around the world. And the feminine energy is dying for the authentic man to show up. What IS going on on the Earth right now? Every one talks about “the Shift”. Being part of it means living the purposeful masculine energy you are. And that means being solid as a ROCK.
The Living with Authenticity program is creating the ROCK. Topics to be covered:
Defining Authenticity, unlock your purpose, physical world works, mental games to play, feeding both of them, living your own rhythm, taking time to breathe and what that all really means. Bring your whole self. We will be physically moving in this class so wear the appropriate clothes.
What does your partner want more than anything in the world? An authentic MAN. And you want an authentic woman, be honest. Let her work her part. You commit to really do yours. Societal experience hinders expression of all you can be. Honor yourself by exploring the “what if” in a safe container. And then make it a reality that will stagger even you. Bring pieces of you back together to make the whole man you really are.
Creating wholeness requires commitment, strength and perseverance. Sometimes it requires doing things that are terrifying. Sound too feminine? Being a “man” today is not about becoming less masculine. It is about becoming whole and embracing masculinity in ALL its meaning. Learning to love yourself for who you are right here, right now is a bold step for any one to take. Gaining a sense of true self allows one to ultimately give up the self and thus, give your specific gift to the Universe.
Being a Rock. A beacon in the night. The one to lean on. Water to a wilting plant. Food to the hungry, A hand to hold. Integrity personified. Living a life on purpose. Love. Solid as a Rock, love never ceases. It shows in every thing you do. How do you define authentic? Being a rock means that you are true to your purpose. And that purpose is to be the man you were created to be. Your gift.
Dave Estes, of the OneVibe Shamanic Healing Center in Exeter, NH, will walk with you to help you discover your own path, that you may lead others. How big a ROCK can you be? Step up.
